Ironman Wales Triumph

Well what can I say, Ironman Wales delivered it all – from cold, choppy water and jelly fish to torrential rain the day before, cold winds but also beautiful sunshine, hills on both bike and run…what a fantastic race! The support from the crowds was insane and my athlete (and husband) Simon Smith totally nailed this one. A strong 2.4 mile swim in the sea followed by a brutal 112mile bike consisting of 8500ft of climbing followed by a run that unusually included a huge amount of elevation, he finished the 26.2 mile marathon so strong (last lap incredibly was his fastest) in a time of 11:59:10, this time the dragon was well and truly slayed
